Q: What is Career Alerter?

A: Career Alerter is a service that sends daily alerts to dedicated job seekers. Career Alerter searches through millions of jobs and finds the most relevant and local positions based on your search preferences. Our commitment is to provide you with "Nothing But Jobs."


Q: Is Career Alerter free to use?

A: Yes, Career Alerter is completely free to use.


Q: What types of jobs are available on Career Alerter?

A: Career Alerter has a broad selection of jobs, ranging from entry-level to full-time, in categories such as Administrative, Healthcare, Retail, Transportation, Accounting, Management & more. Career Alerter provides you with millions of jobs that can be easily searched and sent to your inbox as daily email alerts.


Q: How old do you have to be to use Career Alerter?

A: There is no minimum age to become a member of Career Alerter. However, every job has its own age requirements depending on the nature of the position. Read the job description for more information on specific positions.


Signing Up

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Simply go to our landing page, enter your name and email address, and click "Register." You will receive an email in your inbox confirming your registration.


Q: How long do we have to wait until we receive an invitation to join Career Alerter?

A: It depends on the amount of people on our waiting list. Generally, it should take about a day or two.


Q: How do I sign in?

A: Click on the "Login" button at the top right corner of the landing page. Type in your email and password, then click "Login." Remember that you need to sign up to be a member first.


Q: I'm having trouble using Career Alerter on my smartphone.

A: We strive to make Career Alerter accessible across as many devices as possible. Please provide more details about the problem you have encountered and our Operations Team can provide further assistance.


Password

Q: I forgot my password! What do I do?

A: Click on the "Login" button at the top right corner of the landing page. A popup box appears; click on "Forgot Password?" at the bottom. Enter your email address so we can send a temporary password to your email account. Obtain the temporary password that we sent to your email and use that to log into your Career Alerter account. After you successfully log in, please click on the "Edit Profile" button located on the right side of the page to change your password.


Q: I got a temporary password, but it won't let me log in.

A: Please use the contact form on this page and provide us your registered email address so that we can reset your password manually.


Q: I requested a temporary password, but I never got it. What do I do?

A: Your email client could have sent our email with your temporary password to the spam folder. To ensure our emails are delivered to your inbox, please add mail@careeralerter.com to your address book. If this does not fix the problem, please use the contact form on this page.


My Profile

Q: How do I update my profile?

A: Login to your Career Alerter account and click on the "Edit Profile" button on the right hand side to edit and update your profile.


Q: I can't upload my resume, what do I do?

A: Click on the "Edit Profile" button. Under "Upload Resume" click on "Choose File" to select your resume. Once you find your resume, click "Open" and then scroll down and click on "Save Changes." Accepted file formats: (.doc .docx .pdf .txt .rtf) with a maximum file size of 1MB.


Q: Do you have a resume builder?

A: We do not currently offer a resume building tool.


Q: How do I change my search location?

A: After successfully logging into your account, look for a column on the right hand side of the page. Click on "Edit Profile" to change details such as location, your name, email, password, etc.


Q: What are keywords, and how do I change them?

A: Keywords are used to search for a specific type of job. In the column on the right hand side, click on "Edit Keywords" to view and change your keywords.


Q: How do I turn off my Email Alerts?

A: Log in to your Career Alerter account. Near the top of the page next to the logout button is an on and off switch. Click on the "Off" button, and click the confirmation message that appears. The "Off" button will turn red to indicate that the Email Alerts have been turned off. At any time, you can switch it back to "On" to resume Email Alerts.


Q: I'm not getting any job alert emails. What do I do?

A: Log in to your Career Alerter account, locate the Email Alerts on and off switch in the top right corner of the page, and make sure it is in the "On" position. Your email client could be sending your job alerts to the spam folder. To ensure our emails are delivered to your inbox, please add mail@careeralerter.com to your address book. If this does not fix the problem, please use the contact form on this page.

Q: How do I apply for jobs?

A: When you see a job listing that you like, click on job title. The link will provide you with additional information regarding the job and instructions on how to apply for that particular job.


Q: Who will notify me if I get the job?

A: After you send out an application to an employer, all communication will be between you and that employer. Career Alerter is unable to provide details about job openings or the status of your application on behalf of employers. Please contact the employer directly using the contact details found on their website.

A: Career Alerter is unable to provide details about job openings on behalf of employers. Please contact the employer directly using the contact details found on their website.


Q: Is there a number to call regarding the status of my job application?

A: No. After you submit an application to an employer, all communication will be between you and that employer. Please contact the employer directly using the contact details found on their website.


Q: If I unsubscribe, where does my information go?

A: When you unsubscribe from Career Alerter, your email alerts are deactivated. Your user account will remain available in case you want to login and re-activate your alerts or change your keywords in the future.
